I Am in the Epstein Files

Once. Someone named “Vincenzo lozzo” wrote to Epstein in email, in 2016: “I wouldn’t pay too much attention to this, Schneier has a long tradition of dramatizing and misunderstanding things.” The topic of the email is DDoS attacks, and it is unclear what I am dramatizing and misunderstanding.

Rabbi Schneier is also mentioned, also incidentally, also once. As far as either of us know, we are not related.

EDITED TO ADD (2/7): There is more context on the Justice.gov website version.

Me too! One of the documents is 205 pages of open source licenses of software included in an unnamed Apple product.

Did a search, and I am NOT in the Epstein files. Not that I expected to be.

Is this going to be like the old-time “Google-banging” where the goal is to give Google two words that would give EXACTLY one result?

(Not sure if I recall what it was called, precisely, and in any case it was before Google got taken over by spammy ads, Search Engine optimization, and AI slop. So: long time ago. It was a simpler time.)

David Brigden February 6, 2026 5:32 PM

Looks like after discounting you, Vincent was discussing internet security starting with DDOS attacks.

Os any of what he said relevant? (cyber security, not Epstein)

Privacy February 7, 2026 2:54 AM

There said to be millions of files.
Given tenuous connections such as friend of a friend of a coworker… it should not be very much of a surprise to be in one of the files, at least in name, since names are not unique.

Clive Robinson February 7, 2026 4:12 AM

@ David Brigden,

With regards,

“[I]s any of what he said relevant? (cyber security, not Epstein)”

Unfortunately yes, and you can not separate the two because others will not. It’s all just “Cancel Culture” called “Social Justice” by some. But it’s actually more and those that hang off of it because it gives them a “sense of worth” and “15 seconds of fame” and requires no facts or proof only shouting loudly. As such it’s way more insidious than “gossip” and “being sent to coventry” and those who suffer it are usually those who can least defend themselves.

Epstein is known to have been buying legitimacy by trying to anonymously fund “arts and science” researchers.

In more than one case a recipient of such money did what they should have done when offered anonymous donations. They referred it up the University “Ethics Chain” to get it checked out. The University cleared the funding, but… Later it was made known that the anonymous funding had potentially come from Epstein.

That was then used to “cancel the academic” with the University basically finding no fault with themselves and saying it was his problem…

The thing is that this “reputation buying” is going on all the time and it’s quite insidious. And reaches very high into the political spectrum.

But it can also work if the right people pull leavers and if it comes out, then it can have serious consequences…

In the UK something that has yet to burst into the MSM is about Lord Peter Mandelson even though it has been publicly known since the turn of the century. As I’ve mentioned before how he was named by the FBI as being in effect “on the list” behind “Operation Ore” into pay for CSAM material via the US “Landslide Database”[1] at the turn of the century.

Whilst not directly mentioned in the payment data his then current partner was an active consumer of materials of a highly questionable nature.

It became known that the Operation Ore team had a list of “untouchables” who they would not investigate. One of the people I helped make sense of the misuse of alleged Computer Forensic Evidence used a US FOI request to get the list of CC information etc and analysed it and thus found many of the “untouchables” and thus the name of Peter Mandelson was revealed.

So UK authorities knew damn well exactly what Mandelson and partner had been obtaining, but declined to investigate on the pretense of either “National Security” or “Not in the public interest”.

The person I worked with tried very hard to get the UK MSM to take interest about the injustice of Operation Ore but for various reasons the MSM likewise chose not to use the factually verified information (something they still keep quiet about).

But from then on Peter Mandelson should have been a “marked man” officially and not allowed to hold any job requiring security clearance (blackmail risk).

However when Mandelson’s name came up for an ambassadors posting that does require some of the highest security clearances thus vetting procedures… the UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, pushed him into post… Sir Keir would have been told about Mandelson and the CSAM involvement, yet chose to ignore it…

Remember this when you hear about UK justice being “two tier” because it might even be effectively “three tier”.

That is,

The great and supposedly “good”, those accused of being “the bad”, and the down right “ugly”.

In the US “the right of free speech” makes “cancel culture” all to easy for those with axes to grind or who want to have adoration in their self selected clique of wannabe irresponsible “Social Justice Warriors”(SJWs) and it’s way way worse than the “Political Correctness”(PC) idiocy that came before it. Call it modern day “hang’em high” vigilante lunacy because there is not one shred of justice in the behaviours. As I’ve noted in the past “yellow journalism” exists on the “if it bleeds it leads” principle, which arises from “The Beast” that is public opinion is never sated, no matter how much blood is spilled there is always lust for more…

[1] Between 1999 and 2001, after an alleged tip, an FBI investigation was conducted into Landslide Productions Inc. Which was a Texas-based online “prn” credit card payment portal operated by Thomas and Janice Reedy. Though they did not sell or distribute “prn” or CSAM they acted as a facilitating payment portal for those who were. They thought they had found a legal loop hole to run a business through. However criminals in China / Hong Kong saw it as an opportunity to carry out significant Credit Card Fraud, which they did and by far the majority of transactions were later found to be credit card fraud and nothing to do with prn or CSAM (not that, that simple and verifiable fact stopped the Operation Ore team doing significant harm in the UK).

@ Bruce, ALL,

With regards,

“Someone named “Vincenzo lozzo” wrote to Epstein in email, in 2016”

If He is who I suspect he is, he was after Epstein’s money… And the tone of the email ssuggests he was possibly carrying out what SEC would consider a form of “insider trading”.

See,

https://www.kuppingercole.com/events/eic2025/speakers

You will find,

“Vincenzo Iozzo is the CEO and Co-founder of SlashID, a leading identity-security company. Prior to SlashID, he founded Iperlane, a mobile-security company acquired by CrowdStrike in 2017

He probably met you at some point as he ended up on the Black Hat Board,

Which via a simple search lead to,

https://cybernews.com/security/jeffrey-epstein-personal-hacker-doj/

Which paints a rather dubious picture of the identified individual. Where you will find,

“[REDACTED] established the Saudi government’s cyber surveillance program.”

These are the people a Saudi Prince used to have a WashPo journalist “butchered” and then hacked jeff Bezos phone and used it to try and stop the WashPo investigating. Eventually it released to a yellow press organisation the “National Enquirer” via it’s parent company “American Media Inc”(AMI) sufficient stolen and carefully selected information to cause the now famous Bezos Divorce.

However another name pops up which is “Gavin de Becker” he is a security consultant that Bezos hired, to “find the leak” people might want to consider things further,

https://brief.bismarckanalysis.com/p/gavin-de-beckers-vision-of-elite

It’s quite probable he and Mr Losso know each other more directly than by reputation.

ARandomCommenterOfSomeSort February 7, 2026 12:08 PM

Thus far the most “cybersecurity” related thing I have heard about coming out from the Epstein files release is this: https://brownstone.org/articles/the-hijacking-of-bitcoin/ It indicates that Epstein was doing reputation laundering via some academics working on state backed Central Bank Digital Currency concepts. It also shows he was funding the various, seemingly separate at the time, efforts which , when their overall effects were added together, turned bitcoin from being a genuinely-practical-peer-to-peer-digital-cash-for-everyday-transactions in to an investment-focused-digital-gold-for-profiting-from-buying-it-then-reselling-at-higher-prices. Seems Epstein may have had an interest in preventing cryptocurrencies from fulfilling a role as an uncensorable medium for common payments.

turned bitcoin from being a genuinely-practical-peer-to-peer-digital-cash-for-everyday-transactions in to an investment-focused-digital-gold-for-profiting-from-buying-it-then-reselling-at-higher-prices.

I think that is just part and parcel of Epstein’s “business”. The image that comes up is a man doing the shady deals for billionaires, keeping their names out of the press and books.

Men like Les Wexler and Leon Black paid huge amounts for “commission”, $200M in Wexler’s case. This suggests that Epstein handled billions of dollars.

I would be interested, but I am waiting for the full files. What got published is clearly the less interesting part, modulo excessive incompetence (a hallmark of the current DOJ) and someone apparently leaking more interesting stuff into the releases.

I expect that I need to probably wait a few years for the full release though. If it ever comes.

“it is unclear what I am dramatizing and misunderstanding”

Bruce, he was referring to the linked Fortune article on taking down the Internet. It began:

“Earlier this month, security expert Bruce Schneier revealed that companies responsible for the basic infrastructure of the Internet are experiencing an escalating series of coordinated attacks that appear designed to test the defenses of its most critical elements. He says that, based on the scale of the attacks, the most likely culprit is a large state cyberwarfare unit, with China at the top of the list of suspects.”

The way the government has released the files has no relationship to actual case files for a criminal case or investigation. Typically each incident and complaint is documented and case files for each victim are compiled, listing the nature of each complaint/incident, outlining the supporting evidence for each of the alleged crimes.

Details, such as names of the victims (or alleged offenders) can easily be redacted. Unless there is some other reason that prosecutors would hide a history of inaction and misconduct. (Apart from obvious failures to prosecute said offenses and those alleged to be involved.)

Gross failures to protect vulnerable victims from harm (and new victims) are all too frequent and common. Law enforcement, prosecutors and their political masters – will happily sacrifice innocent young lives to keep a lid on anything that has the potential to be a scandal – or will demonstrate how the young, the weak and the vulnerable are treated by the justice system when powerful or well connected people are involved in repeated criminal actions. Even if the result is the loss of life.

The sheer extent of Epstein’s network and concerted efforts to connect to everyone and their uncle, from menial scientists to royalty, gives pause for thought. As do the opaque sources of his wealth.

Hence, accusations of him being an “intelligence” asset involved in channeling political and commercial intelligence to assorted parties, from Israel to Russia, are surfacing rapidly.

The story of UK ex-minister Mandelson fits into such an espionage setting like a third rate spy novel.

This makes the files even more interesting.

Clive Robinson February 9, 2026 11:02 AM

@ ResearcherZero, CLS, ALL,

The problem with Epstein has now become on of politics rather than abuse of young women / girls.

You will find comment on Peter Mandelson in nearly all UK MSM as a way to attack the current ineffective Government and it’s leader UK Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/feb/05/how-epstein-scandal-shaken-british-government-peter-mandelson

With regards Peter Mandelson both Sir Keir Starmer and a previous UK Prime Minister Tony Blair are in it upto and well beyond the tops of their heads. They still in effect control the “Labour Party” by invidious behaviours to the detriment of all but a few.

But Peter Mandelson has “previous” on CSAM from back in the late 1990’s with Met Police “Operation Ore” as I’ve mentioned before. Importantly it was “public knowledge” and certainly both Blair and Starmer would have been made aware of it before they chose to help Mandelson.

Peter Mandelson’s partner was a very repeat offender on downloading CSAM and this was known to the FBI who gave a list of over 7000 –mostly entirely innocent– people to the UK Authorities (Met Police) who then went through the list of credit card information and produced two lists of people. Those that were “protected from investigation” and those who would in some cases be completely destroyed by the behaviour of the investigators under the direction of Jim Gamble who was once a person of very very dubious behaviour as a senior in the RUC back in “the troubles” of Northern Ireland,

You can read more about the perjuring FBI agents and the “faux-evidence” from Duncan Campbell, who makes a habit of uncovering such “hidden from public” behaviour,

https://www.alphr.com/features/74690/operation-ore-exposed/

I was asked to give technical help for one of the accused and somebody I was working with did a US Based FOI on the FBI list and obtained it and uncovered the evidence of the “Protected List” and that various Labour Politicians were involved.

They tried very hard to make this known to UK MSM along with increasing evidence that it was “credit card fraud” from a UK Supermarket chain and most people on the list were actually innocent.

It was clear from Met Police behaviour that they were well aware most were innocent, but the power had gone to their heads and thus they were doing anything and everything, some much worse than Duncan Campbell describes.

The Met Officers I had the misfortune to have some contact with were thoroughly repellent with one WPC actually making threats they were going to come for me next…

Though it was some time before the Met smashed down my front door, they certainly made a very very expensive mess with no good reason. It happened when I was helping somebody else who had been accused by the thuggish Clive Corrie at OfCom who was later found to be distinctly less than honest and committing perjury.

Any way all that said atleast on journalist is pointing out that underneath this “politics” it’s actually about “Men with position or power” abusing those who for various reasons can not defend themselves,

ResearcherZero February 9, 2026 10:18 PM

@cls, winter, Clive Robinson

Governments are very quick to abandon victims of crime when a whiff of scandal might be in the air. Some of them might have given a little more thought to the company they keep.

What they should all definitely give a lot more thought to is, how they might feel if it was one of their own family members who was abused and treated with such disrespect and cruelty? Many in political circles are happy to flippantly use terms such as “disgusting” and “vile”. As to doing anything about such behaviour, that is often a bridge too far. Much easier to look the other way, just as the prosecutors and law enforcement did before them.

Ignore an issue long enough and it will eventually blow up in your face. Often long after it maimed, tortured or destroyed the lives of those who were directly affected by it.

If they don’t much care for the victims, perhaps consider the national security that they harp on about and politicize at any opportunity, counter to anything constructive or helpful. The talk of social cohesion and public safety is all a little thin on the ground.

They have had more the a few decades to read the reports compiled especially for them.
