Err how many tentacles does a squid have?

It’s just that this one appears to have nine…

Clive: a squid has, technically, eight arms and two tentacles. The tentacles proper are usually longer than the arms. But all ten are the kind of appendages lay persons usually think of as “tentacles”. So if it looks like the squid has nine, it’s probably just that one is hidden.
