Offtopic: New York City discusses jamming cellphones in the event of a terrorist attack, something previously mentioned here as a bad idea. http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/09/...

(It's a really bad idea. The attackers will find a way around the block, like walkie-talkies. Meanwhile, good guys using cellphones -- including to make 911 calls or get potentially lifesaving information -- will be out of luck.)
