While not squid art, the LA Times' Food section had a great article on the California squid fishery and 3 recipes.

The squid pictures -- all the marine life pictures -- are beautiful, and give a fascinating insight into people's views of the sea in that era of Japan.

But what's with the sea anemone-men?!?
