ABSTRACT: This paper introduces Smart Tokens, discusses some of their basic properties and outlines their general role in securing software applications on the World-Wide Web. In addition, the completed hardware and software architecture of a current implementation is described. Finally, an electronic commerce application for Smart Tokens involving major US financial institutions is discussed.
