The director of the AUT’s Earth and Oceanic Sciences Research Institute Dr Steve O’Shea supplied the specimen for display. “I live, eat and breathe squid,” he said.

My guess is alcohol preservaton is more expensive and people don’t like the smell of alcohol.

If you say yes I will get a computer, Windows, and will follow the chain back, which is quicker than trying to find it, if you supply a email, I will work out the c code at or near the start of the chain.
Price free, but you have to take the next step, and supply the PoC
